Uni-Solar triple junction flex cells are made in a roll to roll deposition process
on a continuous roll of stainless steel sheet metal. The vinyl and foam modules
are exceptionaly durable they are encapsulated in U.V. stablized polymeres
( EVA, and Tefzel ).
Bypass diodes are connected accross each cell allowing the modules
( excluding USF-5 ) to produce power even when partialy shaded.
Blocking diodes are included within each potted junction.
The heart of the new modules is the triple junction cell unique to United Solar each
cell is composed of three semiconducter junctions stacked on top of each other.
Each junction absorbes a different part of the spectrum resulting in a higher efficiency.
