Alphasolar: East penn/deka concord batteries

Sun Xtender batteries are sealed,maintenance free,valve-regulated,lead-acid batteries
designed for deep-cycle PV applications. These batteries feature immobilized, non-spillable
electrolyte in AGM microporous spun glass separators.
The T Series feature copper alloy insert terminals and the L Series feature heavy-duty
"L" blade terminals. Both are designed for heavy duty,high current capacities.
Sun Xtenders have a wide range of operating temeratures from - 40 degrees F (-40 C )
to 160 F ( 72 C ) as well as low self-discharge of approximately 1% per month at 77 F ( 25C )
UL recognized systems component.

The Deka Solar/MK Battery series of valve-regulated, gelled-electrolyte batteries is designed to offer reliable, maintenance-free power for renewable energy appplications where frequent deep cycles are required and minimum maintenance is desired. the sealed construction eliminates periodic watering, corrosive acid fumes and spills. The electrolyte will not stratify so no equalization charging is required. Less than 2% per month stand loss means little deterioration during transport and storage. They are ideal for small to medium sized PV systems and are rated non-spillable by IACO, IATA and DOT.
The Deka flooded batteries feature super-insulating, microporous, polyethylene envelope separators that protect the plates, eliminate short circuits and dramatically extend the battery life. Positive plates are glass wrapped adding reinforment to reduce plate shedding and to extend life. They are available both wet and dry.
